As a gifted entrepreneur, Matthew Laxton understands that his education is never truly over. As such, he is currently attending Hodges University, working on a bachelor’s degree in psychology. One of Matthew Laxton‘s first prominent positions was with WilderneddResorts.com. He worked with the company for fourteen years as Management/Principal, helping to run the family business. He handled everything from customer service to billing. However, Matthew managed many different roles outside the company during these fourteen years. For a time, he worked as an assistant project manager for Utilipath. Following this, he worked at Galloway Construction, LLC and Tri-Link Inc.
In July 2015, Matthew Laxton began working as an HR and IT Manager for Pets First Animal Hospital. This was his first significant role in the veterinary medicine industry, and it’s safe to say that it changed his life. In truth, Matthew handled many roles while working here, including as a vet technician, it manager, and marketing supervisor. This time made Matthew realize his interest in creating high-quality, team-focused Veterinary brands. Matthew is focused on internal culture, safety, collaboration, transparency, and practicing the best veterinary practices.
Currently, Matthew Laxton is busy with two companies, both of which he helped to create and establish. The first is FiberLink Inc. Matthew is the COO of the telecommunications company, which specializes in the engineering and construction of both aerial and underground plants. Matthew’s responsibilities include billing and any other other vital administrative duties.
The second company Matthew Laxton works with was founded a few years later. Grace Veterinary Center was founded in December 2019 with Matthew at the helm. Grace Veterinary Center is a family-owned and run center that aims to keep those tails healthy and wagging. This animal hospital stands out, thanks mainly to Matthew’s tech experience. They offer unique services, such as texting options, zoom video conferences, and various payment methods. Their specialties include medical services, surgical services, wellness, vaccinations, and pediatrics. Above all else, Matthew wanted to create a company that followed his above goals, including establishing a practice that encouraged fear-free medicine. Additionally, Grace Veterinary Center is certified cat-friendly.
Over the years, Matthew Laxton has indulged in his wanderlust. He has traveled the world and found it a deeply personal and educational experience. Furthermore, Matthew lived in Germany for a time.
Outside of work, Matthew Laxton has many hobbies and interests. Matthew loves to cook, and having worked in professional kitchens, he has picked up several skills to master this passion. Matthew also loves TTRPGs (Table Top Role Playing Games) and has even written and run multiple campaigns, many of which lasted several years. Finally, Matthew is an avid reader. His love of reading began at a young age and has never diminished.
